Liz,
I have never encountered this error message. It seems unusual and I am curious if anyone else is encountering the same problem? Please post a reply here or send me a PM if you are getting this error.
There are some Admin settings for this Board which might be related to the error.
1) the Board's "flood interval" is set to 15 seconds. This is the amount of time that a user must wait after posting before posting again. This feature is meant to prevent users/scripts from flooding the board with posts.
2) "Session length" is set to 3600 seconds. The session length is how long a user will remain logged in while they are idle. For example, suppose you had the session length set to 3600 seconds (one hour). If a user logs in and keeps his/her browser open, he/she will not be logged out automatically until they have been idle (with respect to the board) for longer than an hour.
3) this board uses cookies. Make sure your browser settings allow cookies. _________________ Strong's Falabella Miniature Horses

Liz,
I did some checking on the Forumer support forums. This problem has been reported there in the past. Here is a quote from one of the support staff:
| Quote: | You might want to tell your user to clear out his/her cache, delete all cookies, login, and try again.
For IE 7+
Tools>Delete Browsing History...>Delete all (At the bottom next to ok)
For Firefox 2.0.0.3+
Tools>Delete Private Data>Check all the Checkboxes and click "Clear Private Data Now"
Hope this Helps. |
I would suggest that you try clearing your cookies and cache as described above. If it doesn't work, I also found this comment regarding this error:
| Quote: | | AOL has many known problems with forums. Tell her to try IE or Firefox and then report back here. |
I know that this isn't the best news, but it just may be a problem with the AOL browser, not the forum. That's why I would like to know if anyone else is having this problem and what browser they are using. _________________ Strong's Falabella Miniature Horses

Bill. So far it took me 4 times to reply to this topic. Also had to login again. Sometimes takes 5 to 6 times for the reply to get excepted. Also found sometimes you get the OPPS! page to try to login to the forum. So I am wonmdering if that is why not to many are posting. And just giving up.Or is it just me |

Liz,
Are you using "Quick Reply" or the "Post Reply" button when you get the error? Or do you get it with both? _________________ Strong's Falabella Miniature Horses

I am starting to believe that this problem is related to the AOL browser. At least 4 of our members are AOL users and now 3 of them have reported problems posting and registering.
I have asked all AOL users to report any problems - see my post in the Announcements forum.
In the mean time, I suggest that you clear your cache and cookies when using the forums - see post #3 above. I am not familiar with the AOL browser, so I can't offer any help on how to do this.
Another solution may be for you to use an alternate browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox if that is possible. I use a Mozilla based browser called Seamonkey and have had no problems here. _________________ Strong's Falabella Miniature Horses

It might be AOL.
I don't use AOL, and I have never experienced a problem logging in or posting.
Certainly is frustrating, I'm sure. |
